In this webinar organized by MedStorm Innovation, three guest speakers will share their experiences with MedStorm’s technology in the Intensive care unit (ICU) environment. The first two speakers have a doctor degree in the use of PainSensors in the ICU, whereas the last speaker is specialized in wireless sensors post-ICU.
1. Theodoros Aslanidis MD.PhD. Anesthesiology-Intensive Care, Pre hospital emergency medicine, National center of emergency care, Thessaloniki Dept., Greece.
Dr. Aslandis will discuss how the PainMonitor works in the ICU.

2. Anders Gunther MD.PhD, Thorax ICU at Karolinska University hospital, Stockholm, Sweden.
Dr. Gunther will discuss the PainSensor technology, and how it is influenced by anxiety and stressful circumstances in the ICU.

3. Frederic Michard MD.PhD is specialized in wireless technology for vital signs. He will present the benefits of wireless sensors in post-ICU patients, including the wireless, miniaturized, and wearable PainSensor:

We hope to see you.
The COVID-19 pandemic we are experiencing increases our awareness of the needs of ICU patients worldwide. Improved pain management in ICU patients reduces the duration of ICU stay and decreases the mortality rate.
Real-time pain management should replace time-consuming observational pain scores when the health caregivers need to save time due to increased workload and sick leave.
The PainMonitor device from Med-Storm Innovation AS meets the demand for improved pain management. For the interested readers, we provide you with a 14 page summary of publications about pain management, ICU and COVID-19 patients.
We are developing a wireless, miniutarized and wearable pain sensor.
The solution intends to assess pain, nociceptive stimuli, awakening from anaesthesia, and regional nerve block for all patients (from preterm infants to adults). The low cost, disposable and hygienic PainSensor with electrodes will offer accurate, real-time, and objective pain assessment. The Pain Index will be transferred to patient data monitoring systems, and the PainSensor integrates with existing patient monitoring systems (Masimo, Mindray, Philips), where it offers a simple and real-time readout number to improve pain management.
The new innovative solution of the Eurostar proposal (E!11594 – Pain and Outcome Sensor: Wireless, miniaturized and wearable sensor to assess pain, nerve block and skin conductance activity, software-licences and proprietary disposable electrodes):
The PainSensor, the NerveBlockSensor, the SkinConductanceActivitySensor” are all based on the same hardware solution but have different IP-protected software applications. This sensor will be a rechargeable non-disposable device which is, miniaturized, wearable and wireless. It will be connected to the ICT platforms (Philips and other available patient monitors) and Windows-based solutions where all other vital signs will be showed. The existing proprietary disposable electrodes will be used.
